My recent visit, intending to honour my late brother’s cherished memories, allowed me to assess the hotel through a sentimental lens. Upon arrival, I found the reception staff to be attentive and welcoming, fluent in English, which eased our check-in process. Despite the ongoing renovations, our room—117—commanded attention with its spacious layout, featuring air conditioning and a beautifully updated en suite. The mini-bar and tea facilities added convenience, while the comfortable bed ensured restful nights. The breakfast buffet impressed with its variety, catering to diverse tastes, essential for fueling a day of exploring the historic old town and majestic citadel, all within walking distance. While it may not be the cheapest option in the area, the combination of location, service, and quality makes Grand Hotel Du Tonneau D’or an advisable choice for discerning visitors.
